He taught with Corinth Holders HS band camp before attending the  University of North Carolina at Greensboro. During his freshman year in college, Jonathan worked as a percussion tech at a Greensboro high school, and in 2012 he taught at CHS band camp and assisted with the marching band program on Saturdays.  Jonathan moved back to Clayton in the summer of 2014, when he became a percussion instructor at Corinth Holders HS, taking Corinth Holders Winter Percussion Ensemble to their first WGI World Championship in 2015, where they placed 3rd.
Jonathan began working full-time as the Percussion Instructor at Clayton High School in November 2015.  After an exceptional 2017 Winter season in the AIA circuit, and earning Gold medals in the WGI Regional Championships, Jonathan rounded up the season taking the CHS Winter Percussion Ensemble to the WGI World Percussion Championships in Dayton, OH, where they were awarded Bronze medals after placing 3rd in Finals.  With his heart in the Clayton band room, and his head indulged in music, Jonathan is thrilled to be back home with his Comets.
